SOW Checklist

This list serves as a trigger for defining the contents of a Statement of Work (SOW) for professional services. While some of the information may be covered in a Request For Proposal (RFP), it’s a good idea to repeat it in the SOW or, at a minimum, include the RFP by reference.

Considerations include:

• Overall Approach
• Deliverables
• Staffing
• Timeline
• Assumptions
• Milestones, Acceptance Criteria
• Mechanism for scope change
• Cost
• Terms & Conditions

If you want a strong working relationship with your vendor, take the time to work through a formal SOW before you launch a project.
